RECORDS: Central 3-9. Ozark 9-3 PROBABLE STARTERS: CENTRAL Terry Smith, 6-0 Chip Brown, 5-1 1 Mike Tadlock, 6-6 Keith Allen, 5-10 Sean Mabins. 5-10 OZARK Greg Kellogg, 6-1 Doug Serven, 6-5 Rusty Medearis. 6-5 Darin Roberts, 5-10 Jason Howser. 5-10 jr.

WHAT TO WATCH: More bad luck tor Ozark's Tigers. After going the tirst two weeks of the season without Howser, who was out with a broken collarbone suffered in football, the Tigers lost leading scorer Michael Roussell Tuesday after the 6-3 junior broke his hand in a non-sports accident. Roussell was averaging 13.7 points. "I'm guessing he'll be out four to six weeks," Ozark coach Terry Writer said. Writer will search for more offense out of Serven and the guard duo of Roberts and Howser.

Medearis could also provide a spark, after scoring 21 points in a win at Buffalo Tuesday. Ozark hosts a Central squad that has to be one of the best 3-9 teams in the state. The Bulldogs showed signs of breaking a season-long slump with an 81-49 whipping of West Plains Saturday in The Pit. Allen had 30 points in that game and leads the Bulldogs with a 23-point average. "Everything went pretty-well lor us against West Plains," Central coach Bill Hogue said.

"Defensively we played well." Central's harrassing full-court press led to a 29-4 first-quarter lead over the Zizzers. K.C. Paseo at Glendale VARSITY TIPOFF: 8 p.m. RECORDS: Paseo 6-5; Glendale 12-1 PROBABLE STARTERS: PASEO Leonard Lewis, 6-5 Derrick Clopton. 6-3 Fred May.

6-6 Larry Lewis, 6-3 Eric Avery, 6-1 or Marcus Gant, 5- 9 GLENDALE Tyler Rullman, 6-6 Scott 6-3 Eric Nelson, 6-2 Michael McClain, 5-10 Todd Arbeitman, 5-10 sr. WHAT TO WATCH: Glendale woo over Nevada Tuesday, with Rullman scoring 25 points and grabbing five rebounds. The Falcons have put together two solid defensive efforts in wins over Hillcrest and Nevada, and look to continue that trend against the quick, Anthony Peeler-less Pirates. Is there lite after Peeler for the Pirates, who lost their former star to the University of Missouri? "There's life after anybody," Paseo coach Willie Bowie said. "We just might not be as good, but there's life after anybody." Lite's swell at home, anyway.

Paseo is in Kansas City, but 1-5 on the road against powerful toes. The Pirates have lost at Vashon, Jefferson City and to Poplar Bluff, Louisville Central and Maiden in the Poplar Bluff Tournament. Larry Lewis, May. Clopton and reserve guard William Donahue average between 10 and 15 points for Paseo. K.C.

Southeast at Hillcrest VARSITY TIPOFF: 8 p.m. RECORDS: Southeast 4-7. Hillcrest 4-7 PROBABLE STARTERS: SOUTHEAST Rodney Dickerson, 6-4 Andre Parks, 6-5 Adonis Guein. 6- 5 Wayne Carter. 5-10 Twydal Love.

5-8 HILLCREST Mark Matthews, 6-3 Clint Gazette. 6-2 Jamie Robinson, 6-3 David Hicks, 5-11 Corey Taylor, 5-10 sr. WHAT TO WATCH: A fitting matchup between the Knights and Hornets. Both have had problems with injuries, disciplinary actions, and have suffered because of it. "Our problem is we haven't been able to play the same five in any game," Southeast coach Lee Durham said.

"We've had injuries and a lot of problems. We can't get any kind of consistency because we can never get a solid combination doing anything." And now from Hill-crest's Nate Quinn, who had seniors John Williams and Brian Obregon quit last week. "We'll play some juniors some, and if that doesn't work out, we'll look at some sophom*ores," Quinn said. "We're trying to find some kids who want to play. We re going to play our best kids." Taylor and Matthews average 18 and 11 points, respectively, to lead Hillcrest.

Carter scores 16 points and Parks around 10 per game for the Knights. Neosho at Kickapoo VARSITY TIPOFF: 8 p.m. RECORDS: Neosho 8-5, Kickapoo 9-3 PROBABLE STARTERS: NEOSHO Rob McDonald, 6-2 Gabe Carrell, 6-4 Brad Mears, 6-3 Joey Caulk, 6-1 Chad Marion, 6-0 KICKAPOO Phil Johnson, 6-5 Dan McCool, 6-1 Pat Vedder, 6-5 Jason Wyrick, 6-1 Brock Sanders, 6-0 sr. WHAT TO WATCH: Kickapoo's Chiefs have won five in a row, Including a 61-48 win over Central in The Pit last Friday led by Johnson's 22 points Neosho beat Webb City 71-70 in overtime Tuesday. "I know Kickapoo's got a bunch of good shooters and Johnson's a heck of an athlete," Neosho coach Denny Chenoweth said.

"Kickapoo seems to be a club on the upswing right now." The Chiefs hope to continue their tear, particularly since this is their last contest before next Thursday's Bass Pro Tournament of Champions opener against North Babylon, N.Y. "We felt like, even back when we were drawing for the of that we had Central and Neosho left," Kickapoo coach Roy Green said, "and we felt like we needed to win those two going in to keep a little momentum going." Neosho receives between 10 and 13 points per game from Marion, Mears and Carrell, while Johnson paces the Chiefs with a 15 point average and McCool adds 12.
