He is currently 51 years old and works as the head coach of the UConn Huskies men’s team at the University of Connecticut. He was born to parents Bob Hurley, and Christine Hurley, and he has two siblings named Bobby Hurley, and Melissa Hurley. Hurley has led the UConn team to back-to-back NCAA Division I national championships in 2023 and 2024.

Hurley is the son of Hall of Fame high school coach Bob Hurley, and he started out his coaching career at Saint Benedict’s Preparatory School back in 2001. He worked as a coach there up until 2010, when he started his career in college basketball coaching at Wagner College.
He worked as the head coach at Wagner for two years, leading the team to its best season during his second year. Following that success, he obtained another head coaching job with the Rhode Island Rams. During his first season, the team finished tied for second-to-last in the conference, but by the 2014-15 season, the Rams went 13-5, and tied for second in the A-10.

Just two years later, Hurley led the team to its first NCAA tournament appearance since 1999 and led them back to the tournament for a second consecutive year during the 2017-18 season. Hurley eventually turned down a big contract renewal to take over as the head coach at UConn in 2018.
